The Doubter
“Someone better will do it.”
Every shadow is a voice you already know, and each one tells you its lie. Every uncomfortable thing you do anyway is light against the one in front of you. Gather enough and it breaks to dawn, and the next voice steps up. Light never fades, so nothing you've faced is ever lost.

“Someone better will do it.”

“They'll think it's a dumb idea.”

“They'll find out you're faking.”

“It isn't ready yet.”

“Don't make a fuss.”

“Tomorrow. Maybe.”

“Don't let anyone down.”

“Everyone else is ahead of you.”

“What if it all goes wrong?”

“Who do you think you are?”

When a shadow's light is full it shatters: the screen breaks to dawn, its title lands, the sun blooms, and the next shadow steps out of the dark. Its cards stay in your collection as a stack of everything it took.
